pause/change/resume Synchronize directories w/o to abort and start from beginning

Sometimes there is a need to pause synchronization, for example, to change the filter to make it run faster or because you have had find out is what the files or directories are currently being synchronized is not what you want, but you do not want to abort the whole thing, because a some time has already passed.
