Ann: anytag.wdx content plugin released!

Post by *fnheiden »

anytag.wdx is a content plugin for Total Commander >= 6.50 which displays metadata (like Artist, Album, ...) and technical info of almost any audio files.

It supports the following audio formats:
  • Advanced Audio Coding (aac)
  • Apple Lossless Audio Codec (alac)
  • Audio Interchange File Format (aif / aifc / aiff)
  • Direct Stream Digital Audio (dsf)
  • Free Lossless Audio Codec (flac)
  • Matroska (mka / mkv)
  • Monkey's Audio (ape)
  • Mpeg Layer 3 (mp3)
  • MPEG-4 (mp4 / m4a / m4b / m4v / iTunes)
  • Musepack (mpc)
  • Ogg Vorbis (ogg)
  • Opus Interactive Audio Codec (opus)
  • OptimFROG (ofr / ofs)
  • Speex (spx)
  • True Audio (tta)
  • Windows Media Audio (asf, wma)
  • WavPack (wv)
  • WAV (wav)
  • WebM (webm)
Please have a look at the ReadMe.txt for advanced configuration description. You can modify the anytag.any to add new user-defined tag fields to the plugin.

Changes for anytag.wdx v1.00 (2022-05-06) include:

Shorten writes tags in a seperate tag file, so it's a little bit ugly to implement - but I'll consider it.

You can get it here. Installing the lastet Windows Media Player 10 should work too.

forgot to mention i did this already. still not working. but i must say, windows update always wants to install a patch for windowes media player. i let it do, next time it wants to do the same again.
might be something wrong with my installation, although wma does play fine.

I've just noticed, that WMA tags are not displayed for me too, although I have the runtime installed. I'll investigate in this and will release a bug-fixed version if necessary.

@florian

thank you, wma is working fine now.

one suggestion: how about displaying basic information about .wav (PCM) files? it just looks a bit weird if nothing is shown there.
but on the other hand, this is too complicated, as .wav only is a container.

Thanks for your plugin. I thought that with TC Multi-Rename Tool it would replace any standalone mp3 filename formatters, but there is a problem! I think, there is a lack of TwoDigitTrack filed. I would be glad to see a two digit track number with a leading zero and it seems there are no (yet?) capability to format number fields in TC. So, could you add TwoDigitTrack string-field ? Thanks.

I've just released anytag.wdx v.0.93!

! Please note that this version doesn't support Windows 9x/ME anymore !

Changes since v.0.92:

Code: Select all

Added: full support for Unicode ID3v2 tags.
Added: scripting functions for use in anytag.any template file.
Added: ansi setting to decode non-unicode ID3v2 tags with system codepage.
Changed: format of the anytag.any template file (old format is not supported anymore).
Changed: Windows 9x/ME are not supported anymore (anytag.wdx 0.92 is still available for download).
Changed: removed UPX compression because there are issues with binaries build by Visual Studio 2005.
Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions (especially regarding the powerful template mechanism for user-defined columns).

You can download it from
http://www.mp3tag.de/tc.html (german site)

or
http://www.mp3tag.de/en/tc.html (english site)

That's very sad - what functions do you use which are missing on Windows 9x/ME?

I'm not using any special functions but I don't want to mess around with these operating systems which don't support Unicode anymore. I know about MSLU but I don't plan to use it. It would be great if Total Commander would support Unicode. For now, any chinese characters from my tags are displayed as ?????.

Again, everyone who still uses Windows 9x/ME can download the very stable version 0.92 of anytag.wdx from the download page.
