Code: Select all
25.10.20 Added: Zoom thumbnails with Ctrl+Mouse wheel between 10% and 200% of the configured thumbnail size (32/64)
i like the feature. but it feels a little hidden.
maybe a bar with a slider above the thumbnails (under the column headers) would ne a nice addition?

I'm already showing a percentage value while you zoom, but there is indeed no indication that you can zoom. I don't really want to take away screen space for this, any ideas?

Perhaps show an icon next to the icons of directory history and directory hotlist which upon hover would show such a slider? Similar to how the dirs show upon hovering over the breadcrumbs.

I guess a little slider in the statusbar would do in most cases. This is how it's solved in macOS Finder and it's okay.

But the status bar is still used for total size etc. Do you mean an extra status bar?

Maybe this extra satus bar clould be made as additional vertical bar with zoom slider?
Well, it could be 1 bar with 1 slider that will be used for active panel; 1 bar with 2 sliders near each other (1 for each panel); or 2 bars with silders on the opposite sides of panels separator (and vertical button bar if one is enabled).

Well, there are four places with enough space to show the thumbnail size slider here:
- to the right of the drive buttons
- somewhere on the right in the current path field
- to the left of the command line
- as some kind of additional tabstop header, since resizing tabstop headers in thumbnail view does not really affect anything.
Unfortunately, all these can be hidden, so I still stay with my idea of showing a small "loupe" button somewhere, which upon hover would show the slider. No idea where to best place the button for everyone, though.
