CloudPlugin crashes sometime after a failed login

With the following configuration, CloudPlugin crashes TC right before normally exiting TC, if it did not receive a code:
[*] Windows 20h2 x64
[*] TC 9.51 and CP 2.40
[*] TC x64; I did not manage to reproduce it on x86
[*] "OneDrive New" connection, with the "default external browser" login method; internal browser does not reproduce
[*] Firefox, Edge or Chrome, but I'd wager any other browser should work
A new ini file still triggers the crash.
Steps:
[*] after a OneDrive connection has been created, try to open it
[*] external browser will open a OneDrive login screen; right before the "Code Received" message appears (eg when "Logging in" is displayed), close the tab/browser
[*] eventually, TC-CP will issue an error saying that it received no access code
[*] exit TC normally, and an unhandled exception will occur inside CP
I can reproduce this consistently.
(I know this is not a strictly TC related issue, but I did not know where to post, and the plugin is maintained by Mr. Ghisler)
