Add more help about 'everything'

I would suggest adding more help regarding 'everything'. Maybe how to configure it, how to use it. Maybe add a separate help page.

If I go to help, search for everything and select Dialog box- configuration: operation then 'Everything' is mentioned and links to a website.

from help:
------------
Uses the tool 'Everything' to get the directory sizes....
------------

Hi,

However, after entering the search term "Everything",
you will find some more information about the tool 'Everything' in the TC help (F1):

Code: Select all

Dialog box: Directory tree
Dialog box: Search: General
Ini file Settings - Part 1: Configuration
Regular expressions
What's new in this version?
Here is my attempt to summarise the topic (under constant revision):
Search queries in TC using 'Everything'

Since there are always new or interesting topics regarding 'Everything', it always takes me some time to incorporate them.
For example, a topic from today: "Replacing Everything 1.4 with Everything 1.5" is not yet incorporated.

I hope this information helps you a little bit with the topic.

Regards,
Karl

"Everything" is an external tool. Have you found any info about other external tools or plugins in TC Help?

As you can see, there is no standard naming convention in TC Help for this tool:
  • the tool 'Everything'
  • the 'Everything' settings
  • newer 'Everything' versions
  • the program 'Everything'
  • pass it to Everything
  • use the Everything search syntax
  • user checks "Everything" checkbox while Everything isn't running
  • Otherwise Everything will not find the file
  • using Everything
  • the tool "Everything"
  • "Everything" instances
  • use latest "Everything" tool
  • with "Everything" (...) from Everything
  • supported by 'Everything'
  • to Everything
  • Run "Everything"
  • Use "Everything"
This naming should be unified (also in History.txt) - using 'Everything' as in "Find File" dialog seems to be obvious (though search in HTML Help ignores quotation marks).

This isn't a bug, so I'm moving this thread to the suggestions forum.

I don't know why you are addressing me on this point.

It could be done with effort, but I think that everyone who deals with 'Everything' has had to deal with different "formattings",
but always knew exactly what it was about (e.g. in forum posts).
Furthermore, after entering the search term: Everything in "Help", in my opinion, you will find all the essential information you need.

Personally, I use apostrophes ('') so that, on the one hand, when you quickly read over it, you don't read "everything",
instead of "Everything", or for translations, where translation programmes can then handle them better.

You haven't listed all the search results.
When I enter Everything in TC Help, it finds literally everything, even not related to that tool. That's the problem with using common words as a program name.
Simple renaming to Evrything may help… Anyone willing to pass my suggestion to the tool developer?
