Ctrl+Backspace for deleting the word before the cursor

Hi There,

In text input areas of many applications, Ctrl+Backspace deletes the word before the cursor.
This would be great to have in the create directory, (in-line) file rename, and similar dialog boxes.
On my machine it just creates a special character.

What do you think?

This has been discussed several times before and it apparently depends on the use of autocomplete in edit fields. Those fields which have it enabled, support it out of the box, others don't support it. Not all edit fields in TC have autocomplete enabled.

I remember that someone recently posted a link to an MS blog article which stated that Ctrl+Backspace is "an accident" made by MS, i.e. some developer thought it was cool to have this, but it's never been an official feature.

Having said that, there are several key combinations that would be nice to have: Ctrl+Backspace (deletes the word before the cursor), Ctrl+Delete (deletes the word after the cursor) and probably others. HolgerK posted an AutoHotkey script that reacts to Ctrl+Backspace by sending Ctrl+Shift+Left and Delete keys, which essentially gives the same result.
