I found a workaround for my main item, Osmand files. Here Osmand and Tcmd have full access:
/storage/110E-CBF/Android/media/net.osmand.plus/files (all subfolders, maps, etc)
Osmand and Tcmd have full access here
(Osmand can only get access allowance to "Media", not all Data like Tcmd, checked under APP managment)
Still weired that Google allows full access to all folders (appart from .folders) via USB.

Installed beta 2 and all is well. I can open and edit TXT files again.

Thanks!

I can confirm that enabeling word wrap in TC's internal editor does no longer crash TC 3.30b2

This is intentional: When TC sees subfolders on SD card under Android/data/ now, it will try to look into one of them (other than its own). If this fails, the subfolders will be hidden. This way they only show up when they can actually be accessed. Maybe Google will fix the access to them for file managers in the future...

Btw, the alternative would be Android/media/ because it can be accessed by file managers, and the app-specific folder can be accessed by the corresponding app without any special rights.

Is it possible to make the file icons smaller in the 2-panel mode? If the font size is less than 14 points, the icons are trimmed from the bottom.

No, unfortunately not.
