How to find files with same filename but different extension/file type?

Post by *nightbird »

Hello everyone! I've registered this account for the sole reason of trying to get an answer for a question I have, which is, am I able to find files with the same filename but a different extension using the synchronize directories tool? I'm trying to find that out as the last time I tried to transfer some files from my phone to my computer, or vice-versa, some of them which were .gif and .mp4, magically became .jpg files (for some unknown reason). Hopefully I can get a way to do what I want, I wanted to do it with the "Synchronize Directories" tool, but if that doesn't work that's okay, it can be with whatever way possible.
Thank you for your attention and see you soon! :D

You can use "Search" feature for such a task with "Find duplicate files" enabled on "Advanced" tab and [tc.name] field.

You can select or not "same size" and "same content" field, depends what you want to achieve.

You can also use new feature in TC 10 - "Partner file with different extension" on plugins tab
-> http://gral.y0.pl/tc/tcsearch2.png - type gif and mp4 if you search for "*.jpg" on "General" tab of search.

I also forgot to mention, does this work if I have the files on two separate directories, eitherway, thank you for your help, I appreciate it! :P
