(Solved) Cannot copy files bigger than 2048 bytes

Post by *timontnt »

Hi.
I noticed a few weeks ago that I cannot copy files bigger than 2048 bytes between remote storages.
My setup:
- file eg. 1MB
- C: - local SSD
- Z: - mapped network share
- FTP
I CAN copy a file from any location to C:
I CAN copy a file from C: to any location
I CAN copy a file from Z: to FTP
I CANNOT copy from FTP to Z:
I CANNOT copy from Z: to Z:

I can copy smaller files but when I copy something bigger than 2048 bytes, it copies just 2048 and then write error "Disk probably full".
When I use other clients it works. Windows Explorer also works. I tried with different buffers in Copy/Delete but does not help.

I tired with different drives. My workmate simillar setup and everything works for him.
Tried reinstalling but it's not helping.

I cannot reproduce that. What system is hosting that drive Z:? Is it a Windows PC, Linux PC, or NAS? Please provide more information.

Does it work when you run TC with a fresh INI file, like this:

Code: Select all

totalcmd.exe /i="%TEMP%\fresh.ini"
If you use TC 64-bit, replace totalcmd.exe with totalcmd64.exe.

Unfortunately it's not helping. I noticed this about a month ago.
And my friend also uses TC and copies the same file and it works on his device.

So something must be different between your systems. Maybe a background virus scanner or custom firewall?

I suggest to try in Windows Safe Mode. It's also possible that some shell extension interferes, but I don't think they're used when using the custom copy method in TC.

Hi.
I tried in Safe Boot with network and everything works fine.
I tried disabling firewall (ESET Endpoint Security) and it still shows disk full.

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

For everyone wondering what "DLP software" is (like me): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Data_loss_prevention_software
