Hi,
I would like an icon for direct access to the user home directory. Best to the right of "\" and "..", to be named "~"

Hi, welcome and thanks for the suggestion.
That will probably not happen.

Instead you could use the Directory Hotlist
or the Drive ComboBox
or an button, keyboardhotkey, kommandline alias
or use use subst to map your HomeDir to a drive letter ( subst u: %UserProfile% )

Help > 3. Operation >> a. User interface
>> (Directory Hotlist and History)
>> (Drive selection list)
Click there at the pictures.

Too bad, although I do not fully understand the reason. That would probably be just a few lines of code.

I don't think it is a matter of extra code, it is a matter of space taken up in the user interface by yet another button, that not all people might want anyway. But if it was configurable to show the button / icon - then I will not be against it.

To be honest, the position of those buttons is away from logical and optimal. I believe that remained from the first version of TC, when video resolution was very low and screen estate precious. That's why those four buttons are on two separate rows. But nothing changed since then.

Today there is a lot of room in front of those buttons in the both rows, especially the one on top - drive combobox.
Personally, I never use those buttons, I use keyboard equivalents instead. But I don't have anything against improvement in this area.
Of course, best solution is to be user configurable, similar to the button bar.
