[FileSystemPlugins64] & checksum appears in clean ini while no plugins installed

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

[FileSystemPlugins64] & checksum appears in clean ini while no plugins installed

Post by *Gral »

Again, during checkig one bug i found another.
After run TC 10.50 x 64 beta3 with clean ini and call Synchronize Directory as desribed here - https://www.ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?t=76447 , section

Code: Select all

[FileSystemPlugins64]
$checksum$=3014672
appears in ini file while any plugin of any kind is not installed.

EDIT - there's no need to run Synchronize Directories - just run TC x64 with clean ini and section and content appear.

I didn't notice before. Has it ever been discussed? It's strange anyway.

I don't think so. But I have noticed it before, sp I tested it with TC 8.00 just now, to see how far back it goes.

This isn't a bug. TC uses the $checksum$ checksum to determine whether the [FileSystemPlugins] section has changed, e.g. because a user edited it manually to add a plugin. [FileSystemPlugins] lists all installed plugins, including 32-bit only. [FileSystemPlugins64] lists the installed plugins which also have a 64-bit version. This way TC knows which to display in "Network Neighborhood" without the need to check each time which support 64-bit.

OK, i guess all of this. But it's strange that is appears without installing any plugin. Lack of this section shouldn't be enough information?
There's no such a section for other types of plugins without real installing.

Leaving out the section may cause compatibility issues with older versions, so I will leave it as it is, since it doesn't do any harm.
