Solved [TC 10.50b] question mark in front of the values at "Counting files and folders in F5 copy dialog"

As we discussed it years ago (for 'tagging directories'): it is necessary to have a question mark in front of the values if it has not completed its review! it's a Bug, if not.

People complained about the question mark in the status line during Alt+Shift+Enter, so I left it out here. Now people complain that it isn't there - oh well.

Christian,
People complained about the question mark in the status line during Alt+Shift+Enter
Really? I don't remember any complaints on the forum. Did they give any reason?

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

Well, since you can use graphics here, put a big, red, round, blinking, LED alike control instead

Configurable, of course

As we discussed many years ago, a sign, that the counting isnt finished, is a must. IIRC the discussion ends with the remark that this is a must. The question while discussing was only, how to handle it (without involving all the internationale translaters for that). So you found the solution with the question mark, which needs no translation. This is ok and as Roman said: never heard a problem with the understanding of that. IIRC we agree in that: Do not show that the counting is not finished, is a bug. That's it.

JO"maybe, ghisler(author), you never move or copy 'zig' Gigabytes while your testings. But your customers do that (and then the counting of one subdirectory for example takes minutes over minutes), and need this question mark"UBE

Fixed in beta 4 by adding a question mark in front of the three values (size/files/folders) while counting is not finished.

Code: Select all

01.05.22 Added: F5 copy dialog: Show '?' in front of file/folder counts and total file size while still counting (32/64)
Thanks
