Setting possibility for "Time format"

Post by *petermad »

Now that we can set the "Date format" in the "Tabstops/Data Formats" configuration dialog in TC 10.50 it would be nice to also have a "Time format" setting with these options:

Code: Select all

<default>
hh:mm
hh:mm:ss
and maybe also these two:

Code: Select all

h:mm
h:mm:ss
but the latter would probably require that the time part of the Date can be right-adjusted or that the missing 0 before the hours is replaced with a space to look nice.

That could also satisfy the re-occurring request for displaying seconds, without having to use Custom Columns.

Unfortunately this would mess up all the logic of automatically adjusting the default columns. :(

So how do you manage with adjusting different date formats, for example YY-MM-DD and YYYY-MM-DD?

Hmm, a pity - this could have met the request for showing seconds which frequently turns up here in the forum.

Yeah, Don’t be so sorry :). Perhaps we're all a bit confused about the problems we're talking about.
I definitely don't see what adjusting we're talking about now? If a string has a very hard known width in characters?
What difference does 12:56 (5 characters) or 12:56:44 (8 characters) make?
