Download Folder access on Win 10

Post by *Tekmage »

On Windows 10 the dowload folder is in "This PC>Downloads" it is NOT a folder in the Directory list. :(

How can I get access to Downloads in Total Commander? :?:

Use the "drive combobox"       (as that thing is called in the Configuration, in help at "User interface" it's called "Drive selection list")
and there the "+ Computer"-entry
and next you will have "Download".

Notice that this does not apply to Windows 7 and earlier (I know this topic is about Win 10)

Quote from another thread:
HolgerK wrote: 2022-04-16, 17:19 UTC - Virtual Folders can't be added to the Directory hotlist.

Workaround
Use the real download-Directory instead:
In command line type

Code: Select all

cd %$Downloads%
and add this path to the "Directory hotlist (Ctrl+D)"
Of course a real folder is not the same as a virtual folder. You can actually add a virtual folder to Directory hotlist by using the command:

Code: Select all

cd ::{CLSID key}
For a list of CLSID keys see for example:
https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/3123-clsid-key-guid-shortcuts-list-windows-10-a.html

So for the Downloads virtual folder, use:

Code: Select all

cd ::{088e3905-0323-4b02-9826-5d99428e115f}
or:

Code: Select all

cd ::{374DE290-123F-4565-9164-39C4925E467B}

Just remember, some file management functions might not work as expected in virtual folders.

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

I had the same issue, the best way for me is to pin (lock) the real download folder on the right panel.
