[TC 10.51] Issue with Fira Code font and windows 11

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

[TC 10.51] Issue with Fira Code font and windows 11

Post by *oOoZEUSoOo »

Hi team,

There is an issue with the Fira Code font and Total Commander v10.51 on Windows 11.
On the status bar (and in all file details as well), in dynamic mode (Dyn (x,x KiB|MiB)), instead of displaying 6 144.2 Mio, Total Commander displays 6|144.2 Mio where '|' represents an extended character and replace the 'space' character. In my comment I display this character as '|' but in fact the character is displayed as a square with a question mark inside.

Tested with different mode for example (Kio) and it displays 6|291|666 Kio instead of 6 291 666 Kio.
32 and 64 bits, dark mode or not.
I don't know if this issue is known.

Under Windows 10, the font is ok, and I have the right display.

Best regards, Frederic.

FiraCoud bug!
Narrow No-Break Space character (U+202F) support #1351

It may be that W10 uses a normal Space (and therefore is not effected by this bug).
Workaround(W11 not tested. I'm on W10):
run(Win+R): intl.cpl
select: Additional Settings
under Digit Grouping symbol enter a simple space char

Regards
Holger

It means there is a character missing in the font. You should report it to the font developer.

Oops totally forgot that this can also fixed inside TC:
Configuration->Options->Tabstops/Date Format: Thousands:
instead of <default> enter a space char

Thank you very much HolgerK, it works like a charm ^^
And I didn't see in the configuration but you're right, it woks under Total Commander/Configuration->Options->Tabstops/Date Format: Thousands

2Usher,
You are right, it may missing some characters in the font but in normal situation the space is sufficient, in addition it works well under windows 10.

Thank you HolgerK and Usher for your help :-D

Best regards, Frederic.
