Show extension after filename and in Ext column simultaneously

Please add an option to display the file extension both after the filename and simultaneously in the Ext column.
I hate to swivel my head to the Ext column in default view, but I'd also like to sort the Ext column and to known what's in there.
Considering concerns: I believe if people activate this option they won't think the file has a double extension.

Yes, I know, this is meant to be in the default view, since "Ext" is mandatory.
A custom "[=tc.ext]" column doesn't quite behave the same and would be redundant.

You are aware that you can still sort by extension also when the extension is shown directly after the file name - right?

Yes, I'm quite aware of the other possibilities.
The main point is to make the
empty mandatory "Ext" column more useful if a user selects the "extensions directly after file name" option.
If you take it literally, the column says "extension" but shows nothing?

Just a crazy idea...
If we just see a populated ext column JUST when files are sorted by ext? (eventually by "detaching" them from the name column, move them to the right, and aligning them in the ext column, to avoid redundancy and/or confusion of double-extension). On any other sort criteria the extension stays sticked after name, like always. In this way you get some satisfaction to actually see something in the ext column when you sort by it.
[Don't throw with stones. I know is difficult and probably not worth the effort.]

Another way would be to have explicit commands like:
cm_ExtAfterFilename
cm_ExtInColumn
cm_ExtAfterFilenameAndInColumn

Not the exact feature your asking for but at least you can see the ext in the Ext column:
Configuration\Options\Tabstops-Data Formats\Show file extensions\ Select (Align with tab), then apply and OK. Now all the extensions have been moved to the Ext column
