Why does Total Commander not span with Surface Duo?

Hello, i am very grateful for the Surface Duo Version of TC since there is no better File Manager for me.
I have the Surface Duo 1 with 256GB, been using it since 2020 and now wanted to use the TC adapted to dual screen usage.
However, i simply cannot span the app, it always uses only one screen, not as seen here:
https://devblogs.microsoft.com/surface-duo/total-commander-case-study/

my screen loks like the picture below:

Also, i cannot find the Menu mentioned here:
"navigate to Settings > Surface Duo features > Span app automatically, enable the main feature then also enable the feature specifically for Total Commander. "

Please help, unless the feature is discontoinued, i use V 3.42b4d, thank you and greetings from Austria :-)
Keep up the fantastic work ๐Ÿ™Œ

That's odd, I worked directly with a Microsoft employee to make this work.
Which Android version do you have on your duo? I tested with the emulators for Android 10 and 11.
Also, i cannot find the Menu mentioned here:
It's an Android option, not Total Commander option.

I have just tested it with the Duo Android 11 emulator, and TC spans automatically to both screens, showing one file panel on each screen.

https://blogs.windows.com/devices/2022/10/24/surface-duo-update-brings-familiarity-with-windows-11-and-android-12l-improvements/
i am not sure what to to, i reinstalled the App but cannot reset my phone to factory defaults just because of one app, but thanks for inquiring :-)
take care

PS: Android Emulator updated 2022.815.115 (26. Oktober 2022)

I don't think that a phone reset would help you here. Microsoft probably changed the dual screen functions in Android 12L, so the functions used by Total Commander no longer work, or work differently. I will download the Surface emulator for Android 12L and try to figure out the problem.

That's exactly how it should be! What did you change?

I played around with the checkbox "two lists next to each other" and it worked :-) not sure why it did not before but sometimes sthe duo is a little "buggy" to sayy the least, i am glad it works now and also file transfer via USB Plugin ๐Ÿ™Œ

I see, so it did show up on both screens, but with only one file panel? That's odd, it should detect the surface duo and switch to two panel mode automatically.

Hello Ghisler, i just tried again with the settings "Bildschirm: Querformat, Zwei Listen nebeneinander Fรผr die meisten Bildschirme empfohlen"
it looks like this
https://1drv.ms/f/s!AoNaW21aqKEHoYZ9Os8Yn9kECCFq2Q?e=pqXPLR
is it the way it should look?
the toggle "Zwei Knopfleisten anzeigen 1 Leiste: Seitlich verschieben, um alle Knรถpfe zu sehen" does not do anything for me...
thanks and have a quiet weekend :-)

Yes, looks good, the two lists should always have the same width on the Surface Duo.
