Maybe it's a bug MD5: "Error program! (31)" on double-click at md5 file

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Maybe it's a bug. When I create checksum file md5. Md5 file is created. I double-click on the created md5 file. Error program! (31)

Not confirmed. What version are you using? Have you tried with a clean ini file?

This happens when md5 is associated with an external program, then TC tries to open that program instead of checking the file internally.
Error 31 means "There is no application associated with the given file-name extension.". In this specific case, the program may have been deleted, or the association has errors.

OK, I understood that the error is in my system. Please tell me how I can associate TC so that it opens MD5 files

Place the cursor on an .md5 file, click Files - Associate With..., select (none) and confirm.

In that case, try and remove the .md5 association in Windows. I have never done that, so I am not really able to give you specific instructions.

Also check your internal associations (menu Files/Internal Associations). That's why I asked:
