Hi,
unfortunately TC with version 3.42 stopped playing video files on an Android 9 device. Just get a pop up IllegalStateException.

Hope one could help me.

Could you give me more information, please? I just tested it on my Android 9 tablet and videos still play fine.
1. What kind of file, e.g. mp4, mkv etc?
2. Did you record it on the phone or is it from outside?
3. Maybe an unsupported codec or encoding like Hi10?

1. Tested only mp4 from different sources, some I know played before.
2. Both download and on device recorded video files, on internal and external storage won't play.
3. No, but might it be a weird android rights issue?

Try to enable logging in the Total Commander main menu (3 dots) near the end of the list of settings, maybe it provides more information about the error.

The txt doesn't store any information, when I try to play a video.

Well, it's working again, but how is really weird. Maybe my experience might help someone to fix this problem.

By chance, when my phone connected with my car a video file in the cue startet playing with just the audio.

I could also start and stop the file through the notification shortcuts. When I entered the TC player with the video paused, the UI did show the frame for the video, but it was just black. When I pressed play the video failed again, but this time the notification was different:
Instead of IllegalstateException it said "Wiedergabefehler".

I then left the TC media player, startet successfully from Androids notification panel the video with just audio, paused it, entered again the TC media player app and this time the frame did show the video picture and with pressing play it worked again.
Other files, too, but don't know why.
