[how to] Drive Combobox and Drive Button Bar(s) inline

Post by *beb »

Sorry, mates. Am I blind, catch dementia, or I'm not using the drive combobox for a reason (since there's no such an option to put the 'drive combobox' and 'drive button bar(s)' inline, and thus to make my valuable screen space not to be stolen)?

So, the lower screen is so far a no-no?

The screen space has not only height, but also width, part of which was already stolen from us when the size of the drive buttons was increased. Do you want to finish us off by gluing two bars into one? :)

What about the depth of the screen then? Lest we forget, so to say.
I also like 'Schrödinger', or 'Pale Blue Dot' interface ideas.
Still, nothing of those is worth a simple checkbox in the common era interface to place the said bars inline.

Depth is the responsibility of the system, not the program.

I don't mind the checkbox. This was probably discussed earlier (including in the old days in the hidden beta test section).
