No don't use categories. Use manually created pages with link lists. Article pages should contain plain "back" wiki links to such pages.

This page is intentionally there. I left it to prevent a link go to the nirwana.

When I made some little edits in the englsih FAQ-Wiki it happened that I was linked to an empty site. I found the actual site and put a link at the lost site.

Sorry I didn't really understood what you mean. I don't see a reason to create English articles in the German Wiki.

I think it would be nice to have the german wiki a kind of mirror to the english one.

That for I did copy the structure of the english autohotkey section to the german wiki.

But now there were all those red links indicating 'it would be nice if someone could write about this item'.

Otherwise it is more easy to translate the english articles. Thus I put links to the corresponding english pages announcing that these pages not yet been translated.

But after translating a few of those articles I saw that the german pages had the english headlines and I did not know how to rename them. So I created new pages with german Titles.

In case that someone already had put a link to the page I left a redirect link.

As I described above: In the english FTP section I ended up (a few times) at an empty site - what is not desirable, I think, for a user looking for help.

That apparently has been because there are some crosslinks which haven't been noticed by the one who made the changes.

Hope you understand now

For these checks there is a special page:
http://www.ghisler.ch/wikide/index.php?title=Spezial:Whatlinkshere&target=AutoHotkey%3A_Backspace_In_Drive_Root_Opens_My_Computer

But after translating a few of those articles I saw that the german pages had the english headlines and I did not know how to rename them.
Verschieben (Move)

No not really. Empty articles are the essence of each wiki.

I must say that I have never seen these categories. When I started with the TC Wiki, I decided to follow the Web page and link concept: The "categories" in the Wiki are just normal Wiki pages which link to subcategries etc. I think that this is the eaiest to understand for users, because it's the same concept which is used by all Web pages.
OK we'll consider that.

It's marked with a "request for deletion" template.
How can I find these without reading the entire wiki?

For the German wiki type

Code: Select all

{{Löschantrag}}
in the search field and click the search button.
We'll introduce a similar template in the English wiki.

I have tried to mark a page for deletion. However the template does not seem to exist.

How do I mark a page for deletion?

It seems that the equivalent of the above German template is {{DelRequest}}

I have changed it. Does it show up when you search for files to be deleted?
It looks like this template does not exist either.

I have changed it.
What did you change?
Does it show up when you search for files to be deleted?
Did you perform a search? Yes it shows up. There are currently 2 articles (including yours) where someone has placed a delete request.

http://www.ghisler.ch/wiki/index.php?title=Deletion
This page has been created to inform users how deletion request should be done. The author searches for "DelRequest" to find out about deletion requests.
Feel free to fill the beautify the DelRequest template article.

First I had inserted "{{db-test}}". I changed it into "{{DelRequest}}".

I did not understand it was a normal search anyone can do. Now I do. Thanks for the pointers.

I completely looked over it. Thanks for the tip.

I understand now the template page does not have to exist. Thanks for explaining.

Overview of the used Wiki-templates: http://www.ghisler.ch/wiki/index.php?title=Templates
When the "Deletion Request" was used well, it will show some red text in a red frame in the current Wikipage.
Some people don't like their pages to be deleted and would like to talk about it.
