Re: new version of mmedia.wlx (2.0)
The new interface (fileinfo) is really nice.fg_2002fr wrote: version 2.0 is out
But I think there are some bugs in the plugin:
- I can't force it to autostart playing (There is my .ini file below) - it always only show file info
- I can start playing by pressing 'p' key - I can't find any information about the key in readme.
- While I move to 'Frame' tab - there is an error with APPG DLL "Une operation non prise en charge a ete tentee"
- The keys 's' to stop and "space' to play/pause - don't work
- History in 'Option/info' tab is old
- That's all for now.
I work on WinNT computer.
Code: Select all

MMEXT = mpg,m1v,asf,wmv,avi,mpeg,aiff,wav,au,snd,aifc,rmi,midi,mid,cda,wvx,wax,asx,wma,ogg
MP3EXT = mp2,mp3,m3u
[Options]
autostart = 1
infopresencewmp =0
id3only=0
autosave=1

Are you sure WMP 7.0 or sup is installed, to know that check "check WMP version", if an error message is displayed at the next start of the plugin, install or reinstall WMP (7,0 or +) if you want to use the autostart feature
When you press 'P' key, the lister switch to the integrated MCI player. then 'SPACE' and 'S' keys couldn't work
PS : I don't know if a WMP 7.0 (or +) exist for WinNT 4.0

I've forgotten to update the historyHistory in 'Option/info' tab is old
mmedia need a visual basic component "msflxgrd.ocx" ver 6While I move to 'Frame' tab - there is an error with APPG DLL "Une operation non prise en charge a ete tentee"
you can obtain this file here :

As far as I know there is no WMP7 version for WinNT. 6.x is the last one.fg_2002fr wrote:to djk

Wow, it's a pity I can't use autostart feature without WMP7. If you don't find any solution for this I will have to stop using the plugin.... but I don't want it! Maybe it would be possible to solve the problem., please
Add the information about the "p" key to readme....not every guy will be pressing all the keys.
I will try it on Friday.fg_2002fr wrote: mmedia need a visual basic component "msflxgrd.ocx" ver 6

Re: new version of mmedia.wlx (2.0)
I've tried it on WixXP and it works better but I've got several suggestions:fg_2002fr wrote:

Thanks to comment or report bug
1. Why while opening mp3 and cda (cd) files it behaves in different way? For mp3 files it shows fileinfo, for music CD it opens with WMP visualization.
2. It would be nice if I could turn the visualization off. I hate it.
3. The same for fileinfo. I like it (don't hate ) but I'd like to be able to set in ini file the plugin to open the files without the info, just playing. Fileinfo could be shown after pressing some key.
4. I open the mp3 file, it finishes playing and I.. forget to close the lister. Then I open next file and... it shows its info but I can't force it to play until I close the previous window. Maybe there should be parameter: Alow multinstance or open the next file in already existing lister window.
5. I select several files nad press F3. Typically lister plays all the files, one by one - mmedia plugin doesn't, it plays only the first one.
6. While I press 4 during playing a file it changes into typical lister. Why?
7. When I press "Save" on the ID3TagV1 i get APPFG DLL Error:
*Error" while writing the ID3.... oops
What should I do with the file?fg_2002fr wrote: mmedia need a visual basic component "msflxgrd.ocx" ver 6
Sholud I only put to System32 or plugin or totalcmd directory?

1 - Vizualisation is allways started but hiden to show properties.
for other extensions that files with IDTAG, the vizalisation pane is by default expanded to the max because the propertypages are for the moment inadequate.
2 - just press 'f' key to hide/unhide the vizalisation pane (even with mp3 files)
4 - this plugin allow multiple instance. I don't succeed to reproduce this. report me all circonstance.
5 - this is related to a bug in TC 5.50/5.51, where the precedence is given to the internal player when multiple file are selected and happen when you change to the next ( do the same when you press '4' key ).
C. Ghisler promise to correct this bug.
6 - this is normal behaviour of TC, allowing us to switch between all plugins ( but for multimedia files see bug in previous poiny )
7 - file is read-only
last - just place it on system path (system32 (NT/2K/XP) or system (95/98/Me) dir)

That's true, now I can see it. Is it impossible to turn it off?fg_2002fr wrote:to djk

Why? Because of the memory usage. Just after launching TC - its memory usage is about 6800K. After running standard lister memory increases up to about 9400K.
For mmedia it needs over 21000K !!! Moreover it doesn't release the memory
BTW: I still think it would be great if I could set it to start with minimal interface, like standard lister.
There is my .ini file below.fg_2002fr wrote:to djk

Then I press F3 on the next mp3 file and... it shows its info but it doesn't start playing until I close the previous window. Even I press space.
It behaves this way on WinNT and WinXP.
5. I hope it will be improved in next versions

sorry for the delay
mmedia take about 11Mo, but many are for microsoft shared library.
I tried to reduce memory consumption, but I cannot find why this plugin take as many memory. nevertheless, memory is released when TC close.
the next version of mmedia will give you the choice between MCI, MediaPlayer 6.4+ and WMP 7+ and could be closed automatically at end of playing
For the last point, what is your version of WMP ?

not for mmedia only, for all open pluginFor mmedia it needs over 21000K
