functional redesign of the Buttonbar

a more flexible way to manage buttonbars and menus was already requested many times.
Accidentially I stumbled over this delphi component to achieve Office2K-Like possibilites: Toolbar 97

(I removed the link to toolbar 2000 as it needs delphi 4)

This component is open source, and maybe it's even easy to integrate into TC, so I think this could be worth a look from the Author.

With this, Buttonbars could be added, moved and so on. In my opinion, this would make working with TC much more flexible.

So what do you think?

I voted yes, and if you ask me, I think Toolbar 97 would be enough for TC.

I agree. As for me, I also could easily live without a moveable menu, as long as I have the possibility to have multiple moveable toolbars. At least this should definitely be added some time IMHO .

Oops, well I'm not that delphi-aware  But Toolbar 97 still remains as a possibility...

As far as I know Ghisler uses Delphi 2 so this goes down the drain, but with the sources available, maybe something could be wipped out :)

Yes, I edited my initial post and now mention only Toolbar 97 which should run with the used Delphi version.

Another Point often mentioned in this forum that I want to raise again is the wish for drop-down functionality for the buttonbar (like TCMenu).

I'd really like if this could become a native TC feature!

Well there is no real unified command system without this feature. :-)

Right. And I hope Ghisler considers implementing your suggestions in some kind in a later Version. I highly support your 'UCS'!
