Office lister plugin and Word 2007

Post by *Julio311 »

Anyone figure out how to configure the plugin to view Word .docx files, the new format. I found the converters (I think) but they are .dll's, not the conventional .cnv format.
May be difficult to use that plugin. The new file format is a .zip file of .xml files with in a single file and broken up by sentence.
Fun project for someone who works with xml and all regularly.

Did you try to view it in IEView?

HI Aelxtp,

I also have problems with opening word documents (.doc) I tried the IEView plug-in but that one didn't work :-(.

I have found ONE but have to pay 8 bucks for it http://shareit.com/product.html?productid=201756

Is there a free alternative for viewing .doc, docx, xls, ppt?

Best Wishes

If you cannot configure IEView, I recommend to try ATViewer (link in signature). But it uses the similar approach: Word ActiveX is used.

If it still doesn't work (but it must work), I recommend to install Word Viewer (free, from MS site). It can work both in IEView and in ATViewer.

TxQuickView uses similar approach too.

I installed ATViewer but when I use CTLR+Q, I see a lot of weird symbols...

Edit: I have Office 2007 installed! So i don't need the word viewer :)

I cannot see screenshot.
But anyway, ATViewer doesn't work in Ctrl+Q mode, it's stand-alone !
To use it in TC, you must integrate it.

I have integrate it, when I press F3 it works okay with images.

But when I press F3 on a word document it asks me to open or to save it.

When I press open it opens it in Word2007.

I think i will give it up, I tried Office 1.0 lister from totalcmd.net which also didn't work.....

I saw this problem reported sevrl times.
This means some issue with Word installation...

I took that from microsoft few weeks ago but i can't found the lnk right now.

This allows to open office-document in IE.

Is not default for security reason(I think, but I am not sure)
Checking sideeffects, but so far when clicking on open in the dialog I get it opened in viewer
There is a checkbox in the dialog for that
