• I've updated the French LNG, I found two hitches…
1. In the Options, the box Show navigation panel remains greyed out.
- The key F4 does nothing…
Yep, it's feature of 2.0 which is currently disabled. :)
I also forgot to delete the history line about it from the Readme.html - so you can see what it will be...
2. In the file ViewerHistory.ini, the file-names are written as UTF8 (it seems), example :
- Really, it's :
…\Opera_français_externe.txt
Yes, it's in UTF8, right. I need to operate with Unicode paths, so I save them to history in UTF8.

BTW. I think it's a good idea also to save Total Commander's histories to a separate file. All that last visited folders, windows sizes, last paths... Did someone suggest this to Ghisler?

It will be nice

Save all INI UTF8

Post by *Clo »

:) Hello Alexeï !
Yep, it's feature of 2.0 which is currently disabled.
- Ah ! No problem, it's there for the continuation…
Yes, it's in UTF8, right. I need to operate with Unicode paths, so I save them to history in UTF8.
• Most certainly… But this INI is an ANSI plain-text file, so, what's the best ?
I noticed that this UTF8 is not detected by Lister - F3, I must set it by hand…
I will have to save the whole INI as UTF8 in an editor supporting it; or else, the names are not readable…
…Did someone suggest this to Ghisler?
- I guess the answer : “Use (a) redirection¦s…”

It's not detected because file doesn't have UTF8 signature. And I cannot add it, since I use the Windows API to work with INI files (which doesn't support saving of UTF8 signature or any other signature)...
- I guess the answer : “Use (a) redirection¦s…”
That's a workaround. ;)
but the feature is still needed.

Version 2.0.0. A lot of changes since 1.5.X (note that 1.6 beta was unofficial).

There are now two versions: Free and Pro, see details at homepage below.

The homepage is now: http://www.uvviewsoft.com/

I'm in a bug reporting mood  so here it goes:

Pressing Ctrl+Enter twice over Viewer.exe in TC, passes this into command line:
Viewer.exe Viewer.exe
which crashes mmedia.wlx and fileinfo.wlx
---------------------------
Universal Viewer
---------------------------
Exception in plugin fileinfo.wlx in function ListLoad
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------
Pressing Ctrl+Shift+Enter in TC (so the complete paths are passed into command line) produces the expected results.

I smell a hidden bug... somewhere
TC for Linux please!

Thanks for report. Confirmed.

First I thought that I use fileinfo.wlx wrong at startup, but the problem is actually in the fileinfo. It doesn't understand "Viewer.exe" filename, without path. It shows exception in this case.
OK, I can do a workaround (pass full name), but this is actually not notable bug...

PS What program do you use to catch messagebox into text file?

:) Again…

• I received your notification today at Bill's mail afternoon only, while it's dated Sunday July 8th. …

- So, why did you suppress the RAR so soon ? Such a delay is not rare…

• Moreover, sorry, I dislike totally the installers which can't be opened normally, and I'm not the only one.
- I'll not install that.

Clo, installer is optional. On this page you can find both installer and portable (ZIP file) archive...
Please take a look and drop me a line at support ("Help -- Web links -- Freedback").

It seems that UV has some problems with decThumbsDBViewer.

When trying to load unknown file types UV crashes when reaching this plugin, or with any kind of file loaded, just enter in the Options dialog and press OK - all plugins get reloaded and UV crashes.

Flies in the soup

Post by *Clo »

2Alextp

:) Hello Alexeï !

• I got the ZIP Pro version. I put in in a separate folder, of course.
- It shows "Trial version" (or so), I test it in French.
- The snail-speed @ Bill's mail is strange…

• An old issue which existed in many previous versions :
- When starting the tool with an ANSI text-file, it's always displayed prior as ASCII¦OEM.
I've to change this by hand each time, it's irritating.

• The names of the keys are not translated in the menus.
When in French, they look like plates of soup with flies swimming in…

• Not sure we'll translate the Help yet… Your beloved “Standard” docked CHM is a pain in the neck to use.
- I've a workaround on the back burner to avoid this, but keeping your damned TOC for those who want to use it, though.
- Aside : Translate the Help and not the RegEx chapter is a nonsense.
- Let know that we have French-speaking users unable to read four words in English (they learnt another foreign language…).
Just my 0,10 €…

Clo, please drop me a line at support ("Help -- Web links -- Feedback") so I'll tell how to register it.
An old issue which existed in many previous versions :
- When starting the tool with an ANSI text-file, it's always displayed prior as ASCII¦OEM.
Well, there is an option for this:
Configure, "General" tab, "..." button, uncheck "Auto-detect OEM codepage".
If it's not enought, send me this ANSI file by e-mail.
The names of the keys are not translated in the menus.
These cannot be translated in Delphi (they're constants. If I translate them, they will be in French in all languages).

Clo, the CHM translation is optional. If you don't like damn format, don't translate it...
