function key not work
I tried to install the verson 7.01 or 7.02a on my Windows Vista.
My all default function key not work. The default F3 to F8 also doesn't work. I only can press F6, it will sort the ext.
Do anyone know why? thanks

Maybe you are running a keyboard software which sends different keystrokes when you press function keys:
F4 seems to send Ctrl+F (Find function in Explorer)
F6 seems to send Ctrl+F4 (Drive dropdown in Explorer)
Maybe you have to press a special key on your keyboard to activate the normal function key behaviour.
Whatever, your problems have nothing to do with TC, study your keyboard manual or plugin some keyboard with less mumbo jambo.

Can confirm that on Vista Home Premium (32bit) and TC7.02a with a plain vanilla Windows keyboard all function keys (alone, plus Alt, plus Shift, plus Ctrl) work as expected.
Note:
As on all my numerous machines, I have made sure that the omni-present ATI/Nividia/whatever graphics control software does not steal any function key combinations.

Hi Karl !
• Some Microsoft keyboards have a function which disables the “F” keys, I noticed that at a friend's…
- Unfortunately, I don't remember the command to restore that, so the icfu's advice is the best one in the case, I guess.

I met similar keyboards too. They have special F-lock key with separate indicator (near to NumLock/CapsLock indicators). When this F-lock is switched on, all functional keys work as usual; else they perform some special functions for MS's applications. BTW, this F-lock is always switched off by default after restarting the computer, which always drove me mad...Clo wrote:Some Microsoft keyboards have a function which disables the “F” keys, I noticed that at a friend's…

Hi, Clo.
Ciao,
Karl
This is why I only talked about my "plain vanilla Windows keyboard". It is a normal keyboard having 100+ keys, including the special "Windows keys" on the left and right side of the spacebar. (1 on the left and 2 on the right side) No other fancy stuff.Clo wrote:• Some Microsoft keyboards have a function which disables the “F” keys, I noticed that at a friend's…
