TC7 crashes when opening context menu

Post by *kaszi »

I have a folder containing a subfolder with the same name. If I right-click on the parent folder, TC crashes without any error messages. I have WinZip and ClearCase client installed on my PC, these add some submenus to the context menu. I have tried the same with a newly installed PC without these programs and it did not crash.

This proves it's not TC's fault. Please search this forum for shell extension and contact the author of the responsible software (WinZip or ClearCase, or perhaps some other software you may find using these instructions).

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

I'm not aware of any problems with WinZIP.

Here are the standard instructions to find the faulty shell extension:
1. Get the free tool ShellExView:
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/shexview.html
2. Disable all context menu shell extensions one by one (you can hide/keep
those belonging to Windows, they are usually OK).
3. Continue until Total Commander stops crashing
