Pack file to current dir

Post by *sy8111 »

Hi, I have question of packing file location. Default behavior is, when I click Pack toolbar button, it packs files and save zip file to target dir. How can I configure it to save zip to source dir by default?

Thanks

Is there any way to make this the default action? (Even for other operations.)

If I can ask a related question:

I create a zip file from a directory with several sub-directories. Examination of the zip files shows that the file is correctly formed. I move that zip file to another machine (with another instance of TC), click on the zip file in TC to get to the top-level directory and hit F5 to copy that directory to the location on the other pane. What I get is an empty directory and all the contents along side it rather than in its proper location in the sub-directories.

Is there a switch that I accidentally threw?

Thank you.

c2walter,
You accidentally unchecked "Unpack path names if stored with files" in the F5 dialog.

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

Add the following shortcuts to your wincmd.ini:

Code: Select all

[Shortcuts]
CA+F5=cm_PackFiles
CAS+F5=cm_PackFiles

Add the following shortcuts to your wincmd.ini:
Code:
[Shortcuts]
CA+F5=cm_PackFiles
CAS+F5=cm_PackFiles

And note that if you are using a Microsoft keyboard Ctrl+Alt+Shift+F5 doesn't work. Microsoft keyboards can in general only handle two modifier keys correctly!!!!

I wonder why TC is still so complicated for such common tasks.

:) Hello Christian !
I wonder why TC is still so complicated for such common tasks.
• Because that forum is populated by a bunch of Keymen who want ignore that a mouse exists…
…while ~80% of the users in companies¦offices etc. use almost only a mouse !
- To perform this topic handling, I simply click the same drive button in the other pane,
ask for “Pack” from a button in my bar, and the trick is played… :P
