Disable sorting in MultiRenameTool
I need to rename about 1500 images using a contentplugin value.
My plan was to use "EXIF: Image created date/time" value from a contentplugin, sort on that value, select all images and go to MultiRenameTool.
But, MRT doesn't use my current sorted filelist, it sorts on filename.
Possible bug?
One MRT request, add a new column to MRT so sorting can be done
with a content plugin. I can now sort MRT list in four ways.

I have a similar request, or at least one smiliarly motivated:
It would be great if the multi-rename tool had a thumbnail view so that I could actually see the images I am attempting to permanently rearrange by dragging around then renaming.
A thumbnail view in the multi-rename tool would save me at least an hour a week.

Not a bug. I suppose this is by design.Possible bug?
Support your request.

Workaround:
1st: rename the filename with MRT first with exif_information [=exif.DateOriginal.YMD]_[=exif.Time.hms]_[N] (or something like that)
2nd: now you can sort by exif-information using file sort by filename
3rd: now you can do what you want to do
Re: Disable sorting in MultiRenameTool
Just to keep the sorting order from the listbox when opening MRT will be ok.petergus wrote:

Yes, but it would be nice to have the same order in the MRT as in the box, regardless if sorting is done on Tc columns, userdefined or anything else. i.e. not to be resorted while opening MRTnorfie wrote:Yep. That's the way like MRT works today - but not for user defined columns.Just to keep the sorting order from the listbox when opening MRT will be ok.

I requested this a year ago. Any chance this will be added to TC 7?petergus wrote:One MRT request, add a new column to MRT so sorting can be done with a content plugin value.

It would indeed be a nice idea, and it's on my to do list for TC7. However, I cannot promise yet whether I can add it or not.
