Internal unrar and multivolume archives

Post by *Hacker »

Relaying a question from the Slovak/Czech forum:

Is it possible to extract multivolume RAR archives using the internal RAR unpacker? Is there a limitation within TC or perhaps within unrar.dll?

TIA
Roman
Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

No it isn't. When I tried to add it, it failed with winrar.dll. I haven't checked since then whether it was fixed in the dll or not.

Thanks. I assume you mean "unrar.dll".

Yes, I meant the unrar.dll from the Winrar author, sorry.

On the Russian forum some members tell that this problem must have been fixed in the newer versions of unrar.dll. Their reasoning:
1. The fhrar.wcx plugin uses the same unrar.dll and correctly handles multi-volume archives.
2. The same concerns the WinAce (uses unrar.dll and works with multi-volume RAR archives).

It seems that 7z can do it too (uses unrar.dll and works with multi-volume RAR archives).
