Style of cursor and selection - why they are exclusive??

Post by *nc »

Suggestion on selection: I wanna see selected files with "inverted" bar. But at the same time I want my cursor also be inverted bar! And when cursor is over selected file, some third color (or special effect) can be used. Now "inverted bar" is exclusive choice - this limits me. :(

That's the problem, you can't configure that with the current dialog.

Other programs offer this in a concise color selection dialog, where two windows side by side are available. The user can see both windows simultaneously and thus has a total overview. The old method, where one enters hex code into a text file to change the color values no longer meets the technical standards of 2012.

Total Commander takes over the Windows system colors for the active window and the window located in the background. Win7 uses the default "blue/light blue and gray-blue/blue-gray". Because it can only be seen in Win7 to this function, which window has the focus, an adjustment in the TC is really necessary.

Also in the v8 beta tested function, to make an inactive frame color as the cursor, would benefit from an improved color selection dialog.

You could do it this way, the "expert settings" are only activated after an appropriate entry was manually edited in the ini-file and and is found from the color routine.

There are many other functions such as Lister and file comparison, where such a color selection would also be very useful.
