[Solved] FTP inplace rename behaviour
When I inplace rename a file in ftp, TC sometimes does not find the file, because the sort order changes. It should not be a big deal to capture the new name and set the cursor onto it.

Yes, correct. Lets say, i have 3 directories, I rename one, and the order changes, and TC's cursor is on a different directory....you mean your file with new name do not get selected - correct?
Before:
Code: Select all
a1 <DIR> 2005.03.11 20:43 -755
a2 <DIR> 2005.03.11 20:43 -755
a3 <DIR> 2005.03.11 20:43 -755
After:
Code: Select all
a1 <DIR> 2005.03.11 20:43 -755
a3 <DIR> 2005.03.11 20:43 -755
a4 <DIR> 2005.03.11 20:43 -755
Same happens with files. If this happens when having 1000 files in the panel, it can be pretty annoying.

Sorry, I don't understand what the problem is. How can the sort order change while you are renaming?

Not while, but after. If you have file1 and file2, rename file1 to file3, the sort order changes. And the cursor stays at the position where it was (now file2), it doesnt jump with the renamed file (file3, previously file1).ghisler(Author) wrote:Sorry, I don't understand what the problem is.
