Synchronize dirs - file attributes problem

Post by *hizsolt »

I'm synchronising an opened real DIRectory (let's say in Left panel) and it's "backup", an opened zipped DIR in the Right panel.

If (in Syncronize mode) copying a file from zipped to real DIR (or overwrittig from zipped to real), and the file has READONLY or HIDDEN or SYSTEM attributes, these attributes will not be copied (the attributes will not be synchronised).
(The problem is the same when synchronising only zipped files i.e. not in folder.)

BUT, in NO Syncronize mode (i.e. in normal mode), copying the whole not opened DIR itself from the zipped file on the real DIR in the other panel, the READONLY, etc. attributes will be normally copied or overwritten.
(It also works normally if copying the files manually from a zipped file regardless of with or whithout folder.)

I realised (wondering why only me) this problem years ago accidentally, as I used to make some *.ini files readonly, and was astonished to see they're permanently changing. So, instead of countig and manually correcting the attributes after synchronising, I much rather copy the whole zipped DIR.

I'm using TC 6.55a, but this problem exsists at least since TC 5.51.
If using WC 4.54 there's no problem with synchronising attributes.
(O.S.: Windows 98SE, Windows XP.)

If it's a real anomaly and not a result of my misuse, please correct it somehow, and, if it would be possible, not only in tc7 but in tc65.

But anyhow, it's the best Commander at all!

Thanks in advance

these attributes will not be copied
That's very strange because TC is using the same unzip function in all cases. I will try to find out what the problem is.
