I strongly advise improve/add the functions bellow :-)
1. address bar can select "path text" directly;
2. select files with mouse easily like in "microsoft file explorer";
3. put more button at the right of address bar, the button's command can be self define(such as define the button as "copy full path to clipboard");
I have been use totalcommander for many years, it is the most important tools for me, and I hope it will be better in the future!
Thanks for the developers giving us a so good tools!
Today is the 5th day of China-New-Year, happy new year to TC, happy new year to all of you!!!

I guess this could be a nice feature. If you’re on the parent-directory entry in the listbox, that is, the “..” entry, and press the key you’ve assinged cm_RenameOnly to, this will allow you to edit the path as well.mnxinu wrote:1. address bar can select "path text" directly;
I’d like a way to get to editing the path directly, like in a web browser, or explorer for that matter, so that I can press Ctrl+L to quickly go somewhere else. Currently I do a lot of “<Right>cd <path><Enter>” commands for changing directories, to activate the command line and executing the cd command.
What do you mean? You can get selection that is more or less like explorer already. I mean, Shift-select and Ctrl-select works like explorer.mnxinu wrote:2. select files with mouse easily like in "microsoft file explorer";
Sure, but I don’t care about this, since I have that part of the interface disable, and you already have the toolbar for this.mnxinu wrote:3. put more button at the right of address bar, the button's command can be self define(such as define the button as "copy full path to clipboard");
And a happy new year to you too.mnxinu wrote:Today is the 5th day of China-New-Year, happy new year to TC, happy new year to all of you!!!

Then you can edit the path with a simple click. To go to a certain directory of the shown path, you have to shift-click then.
configuration -> Options -> Operation -> Mouse selection mode
You can add this line to your wincmd.ini in the section [configuration]: InplaceRenamePath=11. address bar can select "path text" directly;

You can switch the selection mode to the left mouse button in the configuration:2. select files with mouse easily like in "microsoft file explorer";

You were too fast to brake that rule, that's for sure.Forum rules wrote:12.) How NOT to post on this forum:
5 minutes after your initial post you reply to your own post writing something like "Why is nobody helping me? I'm sure you know the answer".

1. It's not possible to have it editable for both panels at the same time.
Use the contextmenu to mark /copy / paste / cut the path to navigate to another directory with [enter].
Assign a hotkey to the command: cm_EditPath (Options > Misc) and use the [->] arrow key. Or have it in your menu or buttonbar. When on [..] Shift + F6 will do the same.
2. Configuration > Options > Configuration > Operation
(x) Use right mouse button (As in Norton Commander)
-Contextmenu will be shown after a "long" right-click
3. Create a button in your buttonbar or a menuitem with:
cm_CopyNamesToClip
cm_CopyFullNamesToClip
cm_CopyNetNamesToClip
Will copy the path w/o name of file under cursor into clipboard.
Please use the search function of the forum: path bar with active links
Happy new year!

Are you aware that Ctrl+L is assigned to cm_GetFileSpace by default?Assigning Ctrl+L to cm_EditPath

no one understand my mean
I'm not good at English, and can't express my real meaning compeletly!
So I write in Chinese, Anyone is good at English ,can you translate the Chinese paragraph to English? thank you !!
