[REQ] Add multiple dirs whith browse-button in search

Post by *StickyNomad »

In the search dialog, you can manually enter multiple locations to search if you use a semicolon as a divider (C:\path1;D:\path2)

But using the browse-button (>>) allows you only to add one single directory, because everytime you use the browse-dialog, all previously entered paths in the 'search in' field are replaced by the one directory you just browsed for.

What do you think of the following?

If I already have a path in the 'search in'-field and add a semicolon _before_ I press the browse-button, the newly 'browsed for' directory should be appended to the existing one and not replace it. Thus you could easily include a handful of dirs in your search.

I know it is possible to select directories in the file panel before opening the search-dialog to include only those in the search, but the suggested way would it make easier to include directories spreaded over different drives without having to manually enter each path.

This only a little nice-to-have for sure, but in some cases I could make quite good use this.

IMO adding other paths should happen by default, without the need to manually insert a semicolon.

In the rare cases the user needs to start from beginning, it should delete what is already entered in the field.
