[Wish] new shortcuts in SyncDirs

Post by *DrShark »

How about this:
Ctrl+A to select all;
Shift+LeftClick on "Delete left", "Delete right" and "Delete on both sides" for delete ignoring Windows Trash.

AFAIS this is already implemented, if I understand you right:
  • Ctrl-A selects all files.
  • Delete left / right / on both sides (from context menu) show a confirmation dialog here ("do you really want to delete...").
    Choosing "yes" will delete to trash, pressing Shift while clicking on "yes" will delete directly, without Win Trash.
HTH.
Who the hell is General Failure, and why is he reading my disk?

Please try to sync some dirs (Commands->Synchronize Dirs). Press "Compare" and after comparing please press Ctrl+A to select/deselect all displaying files. This doesn't works for me.

I didn't know about this feature. Thanks!

Works fine here, XP SP2, TC7rc4.

1) Ctrl+A doesn't work for DEselecting;
2) Ctrl+A doesn't work after pressing any button into a "Show:" frame.
Can somebody confirm this?

Must it? When did Ctrl+A begin to DEselect anything?

Can't confirm.

But I found a possible source of the problem: if you press Ctrl+A and release it very quickly, TC does not react at this hotkey. You have to hold Ctrl+A a little bit longer (I can't tell how long exactly, in fact it's a very short delay, somewhat around 200 ms). I think it's related to the recent report.

When selected all.

Yes, Control key should be pressed earlier and hold...

But what is a reason of this behaviour?

Show me any program with this behaviour.
Notepad: Ctrl+A only selects all; next Ctrl+A does nothing (all the text remains selected).
Total Commander, file panels: the same.
TC, Lister, no plugs: the same.
TC, Lister, SynPlus: the same.
EmEditor: the same.
MS Word: the same.
Windows Explorer, file system: the same.
Internet Explorer, Opera, Firefox: the same.

Continue? Where did you find such an artefact as Ctrl+A doing deselecting?

Nowhere :)

But it would be very nice feature in any Windows program.
As alternative wish I ask to add in SyncDirs Ctrl+Num+ and and Ctrl+Num- shortcuts for these actions (select/deselect).

I see now. But your previous messages look as if you are complaining that current behaviour (Ctrl+A does not deselect after selecting all) is a bug. This is definitely not a bug. If you wish to make it a feature request, you'll have to write it more clear. For example, in the first post of this thread you tell nothing about deselecting by Ctrl+A, only about selecting which is already implemented.
