More meaningful drive icons

Post by *louwin »

Lots of people now have internal (or external) card readers. These usually have multiple drive unit letters.

I notice that the icons for them have changed which is good but not good enough.

I have four drive units on my card reader but I only use one of them. This is for SD and xD cards. It would be nice if the icons indicated if a card is loaded in the crresponding drive letter. Or even don't show the unit until a card is loaded in it?

I think the source of this problem is hiding in your card reader win driver structure...

Just to get rid of empty slots of a card reader, there is a useful tool:
USB Drive Letter Manager
It hides the driveletters while they are empty and just shows the ones that are used ...

Note: After Installed, just don't forget to enable the feature by setting

Code: Select all

NoMediaNoLetter=1
at USBDLM.ini file
