Copy queueing
I don't know if anyone has ever suggested this idea, but I'm wondering if it is possible to create this feature it Total Commander, and this is my idea, and an example: When you are starting to copy a (big) file (files) it takes some time, but during this time you may want to copy another file from the same disk, and when 2 (or more) copying processes are active they are much slower than when they would be proceed one after another. And my question is: is it possible to create a feature in TC that would queue the copying processes so that they are not active simultainously, but when 1 copying process is active and you turn on another process, then it is queued after the active one. Of coruse it would be nice to keep the possibility of stoping the file transfer, and what also would be nice is to somehow choose the priority of each transfer, or the position in the queue. That would really make copying big files, from various locations a much, much easier job. Thanks in advance.

Press F1, click on section 4b (wincmd.ini) and check the AlwaysCopyInBackground INI setting. Also check the other AlwaysXXXInBackground settings, you may find them helpful.

Normally using latest TC on:
x32: WinXPx32 SP3 (very rarely nowadays).
x64: Clients/Servers - Win10/Win11 and Win2K16 to Win2K22, mainly Win10 though.

If i am not wrong, we have these options on wincmd.ini
But i'd like to always copy in queue mode (without having to press F2 after F5) but not in background, is it possible ?, thanks.AlwaysCopyInBackground=0
1: Total Commander always copies in the background (32-bit version only)
2: Always use background transfer manager
Then use AlwaysCopyInBackground=2 - or have I misunderstood something? But i'd like to always copy in queue mode

IMHO there are different things, thats why i think that it should exist two different entries on wincmd.ini
AlwaysCopyInBackground=
AlwaysCopyQueue=

I don't think that's possible with the current implementation of the queue mode wich is as a Background Transfer Manager.copy queue mode but NOT background

That's the problem, it should be Queue Transfer Manager and not Background Transfer Managerpetermad wrote: I don't think that's possible with the current implementation of the queue mode wich is as a Background Transfer Manager.

Maybe Christian may implement AlwaysCopyInBackground=3 for such feature.
Hi,
I have not set the AlwaysCopyInBackground option and I don't want to have it for small transfers.
But it occurs, doing a big copy, to miss to use the F2 Queue button.
So I use the Background button during the copy operation.
But if I have another transfer to do and I use the Queue button, I have, then, 2 transfers in parallel !
Is it possible to queue the second transfer to the first one that is done in background ?
I would like the Background button does a "Queue" copie function. Is it possible ?
Best regards
