Reload wincmd.ini?

Post by *Raymond »

After editing wincmd.ini manually, is it possible to let it take effort without restart TC? I mean the same as press "Apply" button of configuration window.

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

There are tools like Tiny TC Restarter which allow to restart Total Commander to use the new settings:

I'd recommend either
Reload TC or Smarter TC Restarter, they are...well...smarter.

Just curious if it can be done without restart.

The answer has been given by Hacker already => Hacker. And Christian Ghisler has not objected to this his statement.

Yeah, I mean I was curious if it can be done without restart. And I've got the answer.

It's indeed not possible because there are just too many settings which would have to be reloaded - so in the end, TC would more or less have to unload everything and reload it, which would be the equivalent of a complete restart...
