I think this should be the big feature of Total Commander 8.

If it's to be THE big feature of Vn.8 then could we not have Search return more than just path/filenames?

Search now is sooo Norton Commander 1.0
Well.. the results are.
All we get are filenames; no common detail as in our standard panels - size, date/time, attribs, as a minimum. And the results are ephemeral; take one more step - and they're gone!*
Search, for instance, in Outlook, can now save the searches and treat them as virtual folders - with all the accompanying data you want. (Well.. not permissions, participants and ownership, but a lot.)
* Ok, Listbox, but that's not very persistent.

Version 8? WDS, GDS, Copernic - have all been around for a while now..

Re: insufficiency and danger: a search fn that misses things and is mute about doing so can be easily seen as providing a false sense of competence.

Agree.

I really miss the virtual drive of Dos Navigator.
Only using TCMD x64. :)

Wow, I found something interesting in freecommander.
It's not exactly like what I said here but similar to quick search implemented currently in TCMD. (It searchs only in current directory but seems like more useful and convenient.)
Only using TCMD x64. :)
