Some wishes to the future versions

Post by *Sokol »

There some things that I really need in any File manager:
1. Automatic re-read of the active folder contents if it changes (it was implemented a long time ago in FAR).

2. Automatic re-read of the file in the Lister if it has been changed. Of course there is the Logfile plugin, but it doesn't implement the whole Lister functionality (it was implemented a long time ago in FAR).

3. Access to the network in the background. The "Cancel" button during connection process would be very-very useful in some cases.

4. The resuming of the uploading to the FTP server file (not downloading!).

It would be nice if you find a possibility to implement some of these points in one of the next versions.

Thanks! :-)

Yeah! I miss the 1 very much. It'll be great to have a optional setting to let TC reread files automatically or use the current reread method.

...I was disappointed by Windows! Example: When I try to read a directory from a server on the net which has crashed, this will hang not only the current thread, but also all other threads of the same program which call any directory function, even with local folders - until the hanging connection times out! Yes, I tried all kinds of things to get rid of the thread when it was hanging (just ignoring the trhead, killing the thread), but unfortunately nothing worked.[/face]

Thanks. As I see, unfortunately not all FTP servers support resuming...

I support this too. At least a "Reload" menu item would be great.

F2 should work in the Lister, too.

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.
