Multi-rename tool enhancement: Favorite operations

Post by *maxmula »

Hi there.
I'm using TC multi-rename tool to accomplish several tasks, in particular to change file extensions and to add particular tags to filenames.

Since this is a repetitive (and boring :) ) task, I 've found a valid help in Multi-rename tool, but I'd like to have possibility to save my favorite operations and recall them when needed, without having to rewrite everything each time.

Therefore I'd like to ask for such an enhancement in a future version of TC... if possible, obviously!

Best regards,
MAx - Italy

This is already possible:
You can press F2 to save/load defined settings, or you can use the dropdown box below the 'define counter'-fields.

BTW, You can press F1 in the Multi-Rename-Tool for further Information.

Also you may load your saved MRT preset just via button on toolbar. As help says,
MULTIRENAME saved_rename_settings opens the multi-rename tool with the specified settings

I already use a button for the MRT, but I can't find a command with 'saved_rename_settings'.
Do I just have to add this to the command in the button-bar dialog ? (the Parameters are greyed-out).

Open multi rename tool, define rename rules, save these rules using any name you like e.g. MP3_Template, create toolbar button with the command MULTIRENAME MP3_Template
