Help with Auto update ZIP file?

Post by *Boofo »

Is there a way to update a ZIP file with a couple of updated files in the archive? What I am trying to do is through a batch file run nightly, I want to be able to add 2 files to a ZIP file that are already there, just update the ZIP with newer versions of the 2 files. And have it do it automatically. I use the interal ZIP in TC for this manually right now. I can do it either ZIP or RAR, preferrably ZIP, though. Thanks in advance. :)

I recommend info-zip for batch jobs:

InfoZip development merely stopped in 2001. An alternative could be 7-zip, which is under GNU-LGPL licence.

I tried 7-zip just now and it won't work for what I need. It doesn't allow absolute paths and I need to copy files from drive c to drive d. I checked out info-zip, too, and since it seems it hasn't been updated since 1999, I decided to go with RAR. Thanks to everyone who responded here. :)
