Feed to list box bug

Post by *JuggernauT »

When you do a search for some files, and then feed them to the list box TC behaves in a manner not consistent with 5.51...

For example, it's still possible to delete the files, but they aren't removed from the list box when deleted.

Strange because for me it is working.

Which version of tc are you now using?

Strangely enough it now works, I must have done something peculiar the first few times it failed. I used 6.0 or 6.01, I can't remember, since it was not on the machine I'm now using. I'll get back to you with more info, if I'm able to reproduce it.

Maybe you moved or renamed the files - then the list will not be updated, because the search would have to be repeated to determine if the moved files still belong to the search result or not.

I used 6.01 and I did delete the files, and it still doesn't work here where it first failed, however, it does work at home, so I suspect that Total Commander is not to blame.

It is my work computer though, and most else seem to work fine. Wonder what it could be...

I think I nailed it down.

The difference between the two machines was that on the machine that failed I used the setting "Use Explorer delete method" and testing it again confirms that if I use the explorer delete method the list box isn't cleared, but if I do not use it, the list box is cleared...

But then again, it says something about faster, cannot handle comments, perhaps this is what that means?

Anyway, I'll try the other computer to see if I can do exactly the same thing there...

Tested it on several machines now, if eplorer faster delete is enabled, list box isn't cleared. This is on TC 6.01 Shareware if it matters.

ps. I could be persuaded to test on a registered version as well =) ds.

Well OK then I persuade you to register. ;)

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

Ah, I see - when Explorer deletes the files, TC cannot know which files have really gone and which not. With normal dirs, TC just refreshes the file list, but this would be very slow with a long search result...
