Synchronize directories: two improvements

Post by *Robert Borkowski »

Below you'll find two features I would welcome in TC:

1. After a comparison is made on two directories the list already contains dates of all files. Is it really necessary to rebuild the whole list (i.e. read all subdirs and files once again) when only "ignore date" checkbox is toggled?
Sometimes it really takes a lot of time to compare two directories, esp. when content comparison is on, so it would save a lot of time e.g. if you accidentaly ran your comparison with this option set badly.

2. Ability to skip one file when comparing wrt. file content. Sometimes extensive directories trees contain few large files which don't really need to compared. Feature (a button maybe) to skip comparison of one file would be handy. It would leave that file with "?" and move on to compare next file on the list. Right now you can only abort the comparison which forces you to divide the whole comparison process into several parts where you have to remember what was already compared and what not.

I support second one (ability to skip comparing of current file), that would be very useful sometimes.

But also I have similar but forward suggestion - if I compare contents of some files marked with '?' (or other) manually after scanning (e.g. I have content comparing turned off or I'm inside archive where auto comparing doesn't work) and TC says that files are equal, TC should change mark for this files to '='. :!:
