I think you have misunderstood: There is a bug in Explorer on Windows NT 4, which causes a crash if TortoiseCVS shows overlay icons any other place than in the first explorer.exe instance (e.g. in an Open File dialog).
On other versions of Windows, overlay icons can be shown in all Explorer windows. And note that the bug is only in Explorer, so it does not affect the use of the IShellIconOverlayIdentifier interface in other applications.
Hi,
My questions are mainly addressed to Hacker or to Norbert.
Question N1.
I have the same problem as Norbert had. Icon overlays of MP3Ext program are not shown in Total Commander, but at the same time they are shown in Windows Explorer. I can’t find solution how to do it.
Hacker posted message with some solution, and it seems to be working. But unfortunately it is in German. I don’t understand German. Could you please write it in English for me and for other non-German-speaking users how to make dynamic icons (based on MP3-file bit rate) of MP3Ext program visible in TC (I’m using TC 7.50).
Question N2 (less important that 1st).
Is it possible on OS WinXP SP3 to export MP3Ext icons to some file or folder and then import them in TC on OS Win7.
Thanks in advance!
Hacker,
I've tried to define "%1" in TC internal association for MP3 and also in common Windows Explorer MP3 association settings. But it doesn’t work. TC still shows just small standard Winamp icon for all MP3-files.
What is wrong? Maybe the problem is in "Wincmd.ini" file? I can’t find string "ShellExtIcons=" in "Wincmd.ini".
