Resources usage by plugins
Is it the same with plugins for Total Commander as it is with plugins for Winamp and Firefox addons - i.e. they are all loaded in the memory, taking up resources, so it is advisable to remove those you don't really need?

Generally, yes.
Though in TC plugins are loaded on demand, this "demand" does not always mean that unused plugin is not loaded at all. For example, if you press F3 on a file, the installed Lister plugins are asked if they can handle this file, so the plugin can be loaded anyway, even if it will not be used for vieweing the file (it depends on the order of plugins). WDX plugins can also be loaded when you open the list of them in e.g. Custom Columns dialog: TC has to load them all to show you available fields.

Not necessarily, you can select the archive extension, clear the path to the plugin and save the changes. Don't forget that some plugins can be assigned to multiple extensions.commodore wrote:Can these only be removed manually then (from the plugins directory and totalcmd ini file)?
