MSI 1.2.1 - I cannot find MSI DLLs on Microsoft website

Post by *strawbeard »

When installing MSI 1.2.1 on Windows 2000 I get the message "msi.wcx is not a valid packer plugin". Readme.txt advises to install MSI DLLs from Microsoft's website, but the URLs given are invalid. (Sorry, I'm unable to post any URL, since the forum software doesn't allow me to do this, yet  ).

Please provide a valid URL for downloading these URLs. Thank you.

@dott: Thank you for the valid URLs!

Closer examination of my Windows 2000 shows, that "Windows Installer 3.1 (KB893803-v2)" is already present. Since it's been working for years, all its DLLs should be in their proper places.

The error message (exact wording of the dialog box):

Code: Select all

---------------------------
Total Commander
---------------------------
This is not a valid plugin!

You can find valid plugin files on www.ghisler.com under section 'Addons'.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------
may have been caused by a condition not described in the readme.txt. I'll send an email to the plugin's author (Alexander Gretha).
