How to compare subfolders?

Post by *Cobras »

I tried Mark > Compare Directories. It only compare files between two subfolders. How can I include subfolders for comparison? I use Windows 7. Cobras

I think you need Commands - Synchronize Dirs...

Mark - Compare Directories performs quick compare according by file presence and dates.

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

cm_CompareDirsWithSubdirs only marks directories which do not exist on the other side! I doesn't look in directories which exist on both sides to find out whether their content differs. You will need "Synchronize dirs" for that, as MVV suggested.

compare content of subdirs too!

Hello

The Sync/compare menu doesnt compare the content of the subdirs.
Can we get this functions please?

I did however tried "Compare Directories" (Shift+F2), and it almost worked ok, except that it also marked files which were newer.

I need a function that compares two drives, which find files missing in one side compare to the other (regardless of the date)

Is this possible?

Thanx :)

How does it?

I compares 4 txt files. 1 in same folder, two files in different folder, one file missing. But the result shows 3 files missing

There is nothing missing, just push the other required buttons and you will see all your files.
You only have 2 out of 4 possible compare buttons pushed.

I have tried several button combinations, I seem to have been missing the right one;

Can you please tell me the correct one?

Push all buttons except the [=] button, and remove the checkmark in "ignore date" - that will be the basic setup.
