search expression file for delete or move - Full tree copy

Post by *isidro »

I need to erase regional Adobe (and other software) localization files, I do that all the time, usually I search "AR_AE", Addto list, select all (including folders), and delete. Repeat that for the rest of the languages (around 50!!!). It would be great if one could search using a text file with a line for each search expression, and present all the matching results, then one would decide to move, delete the found files. It would be a great addition and would save a lot of time for seraching a lot of expressions at once.

At search dialog check "RegEx" option.

Search for your language files separated by a pipe "|" (e.g. "AR_AE|AR_DE")

Thank you very much for the tip, I didn't notice regExp in totCmd.
There is one catch though, if I want to Copy or Move all what I've found, there should be an option for Copying the whole Directory Tree, otherwise it would be imposible to reconstruct from which original dir is each file. (ie: search for *.*, add to list, and you can't make a backup from the result)

Maybe you should try TreeCopyPlus plugin here.

wow! Thanks, I looked some years ago for all the plugins that I could use, but missed this one. So I only would ask for handling this internally, although I'm completely happy with this solution. Thanks again.
